OET stands for Occupational English Test. (OET) EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

OET – Occupational English Test

The Occupational English Test (OET) is an internationally recognized English language test specifically designed for healthcare professionals. It assesses the language communication skills of healthcare workers seeking registration and employment in an English-speaking environment. Unlike general English tests, the OET focuses on real-life healthcare scenarios, making it more relevant and practical for professionals in medical and allied health fields.

Test Format & Structure

 – Listening: 45 minutes – Understand consultations and patient health discussions.                                                                                                                   – Reading: 60 minutes – Extract and interpret health-related texts, case notes, and guidelines.                                                                                                               – Writing: 45 minutes – Write a profession-specific letter, such as a referral, discharge, or transfer letter.                                                                                         – Speaking: 20 minutes – Engage in simulated role-plays based on real healthcare scenarios. Each section is tailored to your specific profession, making the test uniquely suitable for healthcare professionals.
